OMEN by HP hosted a brilliant FIFA17 gaming tournament at the Civic Centre in Lagos State in August, called the OMEN Masters, to the great appreciation of local Nigerian gamers.
Competition on the day between the 32 initial contestants was fierce, but it all came down to a 1-0 victory in the final game that saw Ehimare Okosun walk away with the spoils: $2000 in cash and his own OMEN by HP gaming notebook.
In light of that success, it became imperative to run a seven-week in-store promotion to clear stock of all OMEN by HP laptops. This was done with participating partner store, Yudala, located at the Palms Shopping Mall in the city of Lekki in Lagos State.
The in-store promotion ran from the 11th to the 31st of October, while stocks lasted. The promotion aimed to ignite the spirit of PC gaming in the region through in-store engagement, using buy & get / play & win incentives. An in-store FIFA17 competition was also held with select gamers.

- Every 3 weeks a gaming competition was held; daily players/winners who scored 4 goals within a time limit were considered
- 8 players selected randomly, 1 winner
- OMEN by HP Masters Lagos champion was invited to battle the in-store champion
- Buy an OMEN by HP laptop and get a free wireless controller and a copy of FIFA17
